Martha Kay Garner October 17, 1938 - October 22, 2015 LIFE LEGACY MARTHA KAY GARNER Martha Kay Garner was born in Tampa, Florida, on October 17, 1938, to Roy and Margaret Stanley. Kay passed away in Rockwall, Texas, on October 22, 2015. She was raised in Tampa, Florida. She attended Mars Hill College, in Mars Hill, North Carolina, and also attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Kay married, soon making Terrell, Texas, her home. She was a homemaker and then worked as a medical transcriptionist for many years at the local hospital and also from home. Kay was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was their first piano player. She always treasured fellowship with her friends at church, playing bridge and tennis many years ago, and loved being part of local sorority Beta Sigma Phi. Kay is survived by: her son, Brian Garner, and his wife, Donna Garner, of Rockwall, Texas; her granddaughters, Elizabeth Garner Hledik, and her husband, Chad Hledik, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Brooke Garner of Rockwall, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
