RONNIE EUGENE BOYD Grays Prairie resident, Ronnie Eugene Boyd, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, November 28, 2015. Ronnie is now free from the pain he had suffered many years, resulting from crippling Rheumatoid Arthritis. Ronnie’s working career spanned near 50 years, primarily in the street and road construction industry. He loved the work he did and retired from TenHagen Construction Company in 2010. His retirement had been spent doing those things which pleased him most, including eating breakfast at Denny’s and visiting with family and friends. Ronnie served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. Ronnie was born May 5, 1944 in Kaufman, Texas to Horace Boyd and Lorene Harvey Boyd, both of whom predeceased him as well as his son, Clinton. He grew up as a Rockwall County farm boy, graduating from Royse City High School in 1963. Ronnie loved playing football and participating in other sports in high school. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Pamela Boyd Anderson, her husband David, precious grandchildren Telyssa, Daine and Zakary Anderson, sister Brenda Boyd Langley, nephew Sammy Langley, cousins Mickey Boyd, Don Boyd and Weida Boyd McDaniel as well as a host of other relatives and many good friends. Services will be at 2:00, Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman, and will be preceded by visitation from 12:00 to 2:00. Interment will be at Wilson Chapel in the Jiba Community. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Foundation of Texas, 4300 MacArthur Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75209 or the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231 would be appreciated.
