Clarence Jessie "C.J." Jones passed away on January 7, 2018 in Kaufman, TX. C.J. was born on July 23, 1941 in Durant, OK to Harold Melvin and Alma Netta Jones. C.J. married Betsy Jones on December 5, 1962 and had a wonderful 55 years together. He worked as a switchman for the railroad company, 34 years first for the Katy Railroad and then Union Pacific until retirement. He also served as the Chairman of the United Transportation Union for 17 years. C.J. spent time hunting, fishing and any outdoor activity. He loved his family and they loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin Clay Jones and Sister Martha Kaye Burkett. Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, son Mark Jones and wife Alexandria of Grand Prairie, TX and daughter Cendy Billings and husband Robert of Grays Prairie, TX; grandchildren Preston Billings, Curtis Billings, Josh Jones and wife Tamara and Savannah Jones; great grandchild Peyton Billings; sisters Alma Gaye Ward and husband Bobby of Mabank, TX and Ruby Gerkey and husband Bill of Kaufman, TX; numerous extended and family and friends who will miss him dearly.
