Patty Jean Sandlin, 78, of Scurry, TX passed away on June 19, 2018 at home in Scurry, TX. Patty was born on September 29, 1939 in Santa Anna, TX to James and Geneva Carter. Born in Santa Anna, she went to school in Dallas. On July 15, 1956 she married the love of her life William G. Sandlin in Dallas, TX. Bill was stationed in California and Patty stayed in Dallas the first year and worked at a furniture store. In 1957 she joined Bill in California. They moved back to Dallas together in 1959 and moved out to Scurry in 1972. She spent time doing crafts and ceramics especially with her mom. Patty loved the moments she had playing with her grandkids. She was a caregiver at heart always being the ones taking care of family members who had fallen ill. Patty is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Those who preceded her in death are her parents and sister Celesta May. Those left to cherish her memory are: her husband William G. Sandlin, daughters: Shelley D. Chick and husband Doug of Canton, TX, Sharon L. Sloan and husband Andy, Scurry, TX, Shirley L. Brandon and husband J.B. of Scurry, TX and Sandra L. Dearth and husband Dave of Scurry, TX; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
